Volunteer
Volunteering with Cork ARC is a great way to support us in our mission to offer services for cancer patients and their families free of charge. Our services are dependent on the confidentiality, good will, generosity and commitment of our volunteers who provide a wonderful service to patients and relatives with cancer.
To ensure that Cork ARC provides a confidential, emotionally and physically safe environment, we adhere to guidelines laid down for the recruitment of individuals in the voluntary sector and the legal requirements of Garda vetting.
Our service Volunteers
- Must be aged eighteen years or over.
- If you have had cancer you must be two years finished your treatment.
- If you are a relative of a cancer patient we recommend that you discuss this with our Director of Services, as the work can be emotionally challenging.
- The commitment to Cork ARC involves a half day a week, with flexibility, for a minimum of 2 years.
We also recruit Community Volunteers / Ambassadors. These Volunteers have the opportunity to support local fundraising events and promote our services through community visits. Volunteer as often or as little as you like with one off opportunities or commit to being involved to support local events and projects in your area. You will be regularly updated on upcoming events after which you can choose what times/events work for you.
Volunteering at fundraising events, from Flag Days to Bag Packs, our Remembrance Tree to Event Stewards ensure we have the resources we need to continue offering our support and services for cancer patients and their families free of charge.
We would love to hear from you, your friends, your school, your community organisation or your company if you can spare an hour, a half day or full day to volunteer with Cork ARC and have a little fun along the way!
