Cork ARC Cancer Support House, Sarsfield Road, Cork City

In 2019, Cork ARC made the move from Cliffdale – the original Cork ARC Cancer Support House, founded in 2003 – and transferred operations to the newly-renovated Sarsfield House.

A substantial, detached two-storey covering over 700m2, Sarsfield House aims to be a benchmark centre of excellence for the provision of non-clinical cancer support in Ireland. Our new centre offers the community more space, more privacy and more potential for the development of services into the future.

Sarsfield House offers:

  • A modern and spacious premises
  • Gardens
  • Group meeting rooms
  • Private meeting areas and individual rooms with a focus on patient confidentiality
  • Dedicated areas for children and teens
  • Dedicated therapy spaces

Cork ARC Bantry

The Bungalow in Bantry brings the services of Cork ARC to the people of West Cork. Living in West Cork brings specific challenges for cancer patients, rural isolation, large distances and issues of transportation being important ones. Cancer Connect provides support by transporting people from all over West Cork to our centre in Bantry.

The drop-in centre is the focus of the house. Visitors may drop-in without an appointment and will be met by one of our trained volunteer listeners in a relaxed atmosphere. Booking is essential for all complementary therapies, groups and information sessions, except for the ‘Hour of Calm’ which is a drop-in group.

Cork ARC in Bantry is open on Tuesdays and Thursday where cancer patients, their families and carers are warmly welcomed and have a space to feel at ease.

A NOTE OF GRATITUDE

The Cork ARC Service in West Cork has been generously assisted by Bantry Hospice and we would like to thank them for their contribution. We are also very grateful to the people of West Cork and South Kerry for their continued generosity in helping Cork ARC’s service in Bantry to continue to provide invaluable support to all those affected by a cancer diagnosis.
