We are still here for you. Please phone or email to find out how we can help you during these times.
Experiencing the death of a loved one is one of the most painful and difficult experiences that you will have to deal with. You may feel many different emotions such as shock, anger, loneliness, relief and guilt. This is a normal part of the grieving process.
At Cork ARC Cancer Support House we are here to help you through this process. We host bereavement information sessions that are open to anyone coping with the death of a loved one from cancer. We will help you to learn and understand more about the grieving process. The session includes a mix of information and discussion that may support you in your loss.
We understand that this is an extremely difficult time for you. As with all of our services, bereavement support is offered free of charge. However, places are limited, so please contact us to book your place.
You are also very welcome to telephone or email Cork ARC for support and information.
‘SELF COMPASSION IN GRIEF’
‘Self Compassion in our Grief’ aims to help meet the needs of those dealing with loss through cancer over two online sessions with facilitator John Douglas.
Mourning is a natural process and for those taking part we aim to create more understanding around the stages of bereavement and also how current social restrictions may be affecting our grieving process. Certain things can also complicate our grief and the sessions will offer an opportunity to discuss the many hurdles that face us in our journey.
The sessions will provide a safe space in which to seek support and self-reflection also to develop certain skills of self-compassion.
These skills include having more awareness around our grief, learning to meet our experiences with kindness, and remembering we are not alone and that many people experience very similar symptoms and feelings.
We will announce upcoming Bereavement Support Sessions on our website, social media and newsletter.
“It helped to know that my grief is normal and that other people experience similar feelings.”
